The Legal Times We Live In

When I was growing up,   I never heard of a thing called a lawyer in real life.   Sure,  there was this guy Perry Mason on the tube in the 50's,  but that was just background noise, from what I could tell.

Today,   my kids are growing up in a world where there  are legal complications everywhere you go.  It seems that as we have crowded ourselves closer together as a society,    the we have forced ourselves into a situation where every thing is a matter of litigation.

In my legal career ,   I have felt it is one of my primary duties to keep clients out  of the litigation arena,  where fates rest on many things that are not controlled  by legal representatives.    Most cases are resolvable if the parties take a reasonable review of the facts,  admissible evidence and the underlying law.   It is usually only when that reasonable assessment fails,  that the parties end up in a trial before the court, laying their fates in the hands of a judge and/or jury, as the case may be.

With that in mind,   I am hoping these pages will help provide a discussion point for the readers to get a handle on legal matters that may be of concern.    From time to to time I will post a short piece on particular issues I see as of particular interest to to the community,  and from there,  moderate reasonable discussion of these issues,  and even offer some general legal guidelines.   These comments should not be taken as legal advice in your particular case, and you should seek professional help if you have any doubts about your rights or obligations.
